Electric Mini Bike

As the name suggests a Mini Bike is a miniature version of a motorbike. While some of these models use a two stroke engine, some versions use a four stroke engine. The two-stroker has a power stroke, and a subsequent exhaust pulse for each rotation of the crankshaft that creates a louder noise. Also, the two-stroker can produce more pollution in the air.

The cheapest Mini Bike is probably worth around 150 USD, and speeds up to 25mph.Though many bikers ignore wearing safety gear while riding this kind of a bike, one must understand that is not a toy, and should always wear a helmet while riding. Also check with your local government authority to understand the laws concerning your bike. In Canada’s Ontario province, the U.K., Australia and the Netherlands, it is not legal to ride this kind of a bike on public roads.

Mini Pocket Rocket

Mini Pocket Rocket is just the miniature version of the already miniature pocket rocket. It gives a more compact look and feel. The sitting position of the driver just makes you feel that he is riding a rocket.

Cheap Mini Pocket bikes

The Cheap Mini Pocket Bikes come easy on the pocket, and do a decent job. They are used for various purposes. They can be purchased second hand. But beware. They may look small but pack a powerful punch, so much so that they aren’t even considered safe to be driven on roads in several cities in the US. These bikes, also referred to as mini motor bikes, share a history with go-karting. The small size and fast speed of these mini pocket bikes made them a popular hit with racers who could drive them even through narrow dirt tracks. The trend caught on and the mini motor bikes soon became a hit with children and teenagers.

Crotch Bikes

Crotch Rocket bikes, though every adrenalin junkie’s dream machine, is a slang term for the mini-sized super fast machines that make the rider hunch up and vroom off. Leaning forward on the seat with their feet towards the back of this category of the sports bike, helps streamline the biker’s position with the machine while driving at high speeds. Although the machines are lighter for easy handling and increased speed, they are often difficult to manoeuvre in winters with ice and slush on roads. With the engine completely covered by the body of the bike, these machines, unlike the cruiser bikes are made with one objective in mind: speed. While cruiser bikes allow for comfortable rides, there is more serious fallout of the crotch rocket bikes’ insistence on speed: accidents.

Yamaha R-Series Yamaha R15 Bike

Posted by in Sunday, January 15, 2012

Yamaha, one of the leading companies manufacturing bikes for Indian roads, once again proved its mantle by launching its much speculated bike Yamaha R15. This Yamaha bike is designed contemporarily and carries the features of YZF-R series. This bike became an instant hit on roads and among the bikers due to its outstanding performance and looks. It provides great balance even on the wriggly roads. This bike is a 6-geared vehicle and commands high regard among the biking circles. Though this bike is inspired by and looks like Yamaha R1, it has its own distinctive features too which sets it apart from its earlier counterparts.

Look wise, the R15 resembles R1 and carry its R-series looks. It has a strong bodyline having rear axle, pivot and head pipe on a straight line. Its solid frame is strengthened by the visual depiction of alignment of Deltabox frame.

One of the most striking visual characters in this bike is the placing of tank and side panels. The surface of tank and side panel seems like shifting the central weight on the front tyre. It helps the front tyre to have strong grip on the road. It has got just one cylinder twin head lamps and five spoke cast alloy wheels. Its sharp front gives it an aggressive look. However, most of the people do not like its rear look. The charm of this bike is enhanced by the presence of rear disc brakes and the yellow spring of the rear monoshock.

When you climb to ride this bike, you will feel it is very light. You can easily reach handlebars. Its handlebars, switches and other instruments give a smooth feel. Like the other Yamaha bikes, the built quality of this Yamaha bike is also very strong.

It comes with an electric start switch. It is equipped with a single cylinder four-stroke SOHC fuel injected engine. This engine features liquid cooling for steady performance by decreasing vibrations. The maximum power delivered by the engine is 17 bhp at 8500 rpm and the maximum torque can be up to 15 Nm at 7500 rpm. This 150cc bike looks more than that if you have a glance at it. It comes with a six-speed gearbox.

One more typical feature of all the Yamaha bikes is the Diasil cylinder and forged piston that is built from aluminum entirely. This feature is very useful for improving the performance of the bike a as facilitates the heat dissipation and lowers the risk of loss engine power. It makes this vehicle more fuel efficient.

You can know about the Yamaha R15 prices online. Several online stores offer good deals for bikes.

Sustainable Electric Folding Bike Startup Giving Back to Environmental Media Association

Side View of Folding e-Bike for Commuters

West Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) August 31, 2011

Conscious Commuter Corporation, a startup helping shape the future of sustainable commuting, is joining forces with the entertainment community to raise awareness of their eco-friendly electric folding bike as a green alternative to daily auto commuting.

Conscious Commuter™’s lightweight, compact folding electric bike solves the problem of the first and last mile commute – providing current automobile commuters with an eco-friendly alternative that seamlessly ties into existing public transportation.

The Environmental Media Association (EMA) is a pioneer in linking the power of celebrity to environmental awareness, mobilizing the entertainment industry in educating people about environmental issues. It was the EMA who invented the ‘green carpet,’ launching the concept of taking a hybrid or alternative fuel vehicle – not a limo – to high profile awards events and bringing the concept of alternative automotive technology to millions of previously unaware households. To help support the efforts of EMA, one of Conscious Commuter’s first prototype folding e-bikes will be auctioned off for charity at the 21st Annual Environmental Awards on October 15, 2011 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA.

“We are very excited to have one of their first prototype e-bikes in the EMA Awards Silent Auction,” said Lisa Barnet, Director of Public Relations and Special Events for EMA. “This innovative product will be a huge hit with our guests who care deeply about the environment.”

In addition to reducing air pollution in one’s daily commute, Conscious Commuter’s folding electric bike is manufactured out of recycled aluminum. Using hydropower from Oregon’s Columbia River, smelters recycle the aluminum used for the folding e-bike frame. The product can also be recycled at the end of its life cycle, going into the production of other recycled aluminum products.

The choice to manufacture and build the folding e-bike in the U.S. was also an environmentally driven decision. 99.7% of all bicycles and e-bikes sold in the U.S. are currently manufactured in China or Taiwan and then shipped to the U.S. in cargo container ships with up to 2,000 times the sulfur content of diesel fuel used in US, and European automobiles. Manufacturing and building the e-bike in the U.S. eliminates this pollution and creates jobs in the U.S.

“I am humbled that the folks at EMA think my folding electric bike will be such a hit at their fundraising auction,” said Gabriel Wartofsky, Conscious Commuter Corp. Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. “I truly believe in the sustainability of this project from all angles and hope eco-conscious attendees feel the same.”

Giving back to worthy causes is in the DNA of the startup. Both of the founders’ mothers recently passed away from Alzheimer’s, and the duo are forming a foundation to help find a cure for the disease. In addition to donating their folding e-bike for EMA’s charity auction, Conscious Commuter will support EMA in their fundraising efforts to mobilize the entertainment industry in educating people about environmental issues.
