Roughly the equivalent width of a regular motorcycle, the Tesseract is a hybrid vehicle powered by a liquid cooled V-twin 2 cylinder gasoline engine and an electric engine thus reducing emissions and protecting the environment. With a mantis like appearance, the dual scythe suspension allows stable turning while still allowing for motorcycle like banking. Built into the upper arms of the vehicle is a dual arm lock system which lets the Tesseract stand upright when parked without a kick-stand. Currently only a concept model, Yamaha plans to continue researching this design in the future.

Once you see this bike, you cannot take your eyes off; such is the beauty of this dashing bike.

By looks, perhaps this Yamaha bike is the best one in India. The design and look of this bike is inspired by its predecessor Yamaha R1. In fact, it looks like R1 when seen from a distance. The rear view mirrors, dual head lamps, shape of the tank and seating position, all are designed superbly to give it a brilliant look.

One interesting thing about this bike is it does not have a centre stand. It is the probably only bike in Indian that does not have this feature. Also, there is no safety guard. These minor changes add to the look of this bike. Like in other high-end bikes, this bike also has curved handle bars which helps maintain great seating posture. However, rear of this bike is not as great as its front. This bike has only one dial; the Tachometer dial. The digital console has everything such as fuel gauge, speedometer and the ODO meter.

When it comes to performance, Yamaha R15 delivers startling performance. It is better than other 150 CC bikes in India. It can easily catch 30Kmph in even in first gear without any resistance from engine. Initially, it may vibrate and may not deliver smooth ride but once you travel 700-800 km, it will start giving smooth ride.

The Yamaha R15 is equipped with liquid-cooled 4-stroke, SOHC 4 valve engine. It has single cylinder and displacement of 149.8cc. It delivers the maximum power of 17PS@ 8,500rpm and maximum torque of 15nm @ 7,500 rpm. It has an electric start system. The fuel capacity of this bike is 12 litres.

The comfort level is high when riding this bike. The wheelbase is 1290 mm and minimum ground clearance is 160mm. In the front, there is disc brake and in the back, it has drum brake. This sports bike offers easy handling and high balancing even in crowded traffic.

I’ve owned and used a Schwinn Air Dyne exercise bike for twenty plus years. And I purchased it as a used one. It rests right here at the side of my computer work station ready to go at a second’s notice. All these years, I’ve paid no expensive club fees or driven anywhere to exercise. It’s been completely reliable and here’s why I still like it a lot. The Airdyne model has been made for about 40 years as a design and with that long time in production, it’s for sure that the machine has plenty of competition today. Here are reasons the machine still is a seller after all that time.

It’s partly the dual action design with it’s several advantages. That way you work not only the major muscles of the lower body, as does any bike, but also the upper body muscles as well. That may not be a clear advantage, but consider this… Long=term weight loss is most likely maintained with an increased metabolism. That results often from more muscle and strength. See, with better muscle tone, you potentially burn more calories all the time even at rest. Forget about developing big weight lifter muscle… not going to happen. But pumping and pedaling can develop more balanced strength and lead to more fat burning away for real weight loss that stays lost for good…

]]>

Fan resistance is what you work against as you pedal and pump. All you do to get more resistance and load is pump and pedal faster. Of course you’re stirring up near gale force winds as you really get with it. It’s really sort of fun stirring up all that air. It’s a great way to keep cool on hot days too. Not doubt, you also get plenty of noise as a result of that big fan too.

It’s not a no electronics bike but it is close to none… What??? Electronic drives may be silent and programmable, but who needs it? Well, the electronics can be a real plus for fighting boredom. That’s true since you get the simulated workouts to mix things up. Here’s the problem… All that electronics is subject to fail and then you’re looking at big repair bills or a dead bike. It’s good as long as it lasts, but I like the Schwinn Airdyne bike simple design with none of the electrical gadgets.

Sometimes basic requirements may go overlooked. For example, it goes without saying that pedaling or pumping on an exercise bicycle should be a solid sort of experience, not a moving one. Yet, in truth, many lesser exercise machines are in reality a shaky, rock and weave kind of ride. That makes for a bike that self-destructs. It makes too for a machine that does everything but encourage hard effort that produces faster results. The Air dyne bikes are tank like and build to stay put under heavy use and stress. Don’t overlook the importance of a stable platform for working on.

What’s best is no maintenance and that’s likely with quality bikes. That’s what I’ve had after twenty years. My machine has a few battle scars and it could use one new pedal. But that’s about it except for a few batteries for the electronic timer. It’s a simple, rugged machine that just does what it’s designed to do.

My Schwinn Airdyne exercise bike continues to work perfectly after all these years of hard use. Schwinn doesn’t get much repeat business on this model. One’s probably all you’ll ever need. The one I have probably is going to outlast me…

See our article about the Airdyne bike, a classic machine that is worth a look.

One way to get lots of choices, and all in the not so expensive range, is to look at a Schwinn exercise bike.

A new electric bicycle can cost over buying a conversion kit. The biggest advantage in buying an electric conversion kit compared to a new bicycle is the cheap price. If you do require to receive a new electric bicycle you will find the choices very limited. When you buy an electric conversion kit, you can keep your favorite regular bicycle and make it in to an electric one. And a conversion kit can be installed in a light as possible bicycle.

Electric bikes are eco-friendly mode of transportation and are getting more popular due to the plenty of benefits they offer. Electric bicycle prices are very reasonable, and if you don’t require to spend a lot of money to purchase one you can possibly convert your current bicycle with an electric bicycle conversion kit.

For people that require to visit friends or going to the bank, trips easily can be made on an electric bicycle. If you live in a busy area or you require to go to work on an electric bicycle can be a less stressful, cheaper and quicker option, no more worrying about rising fuel prices, traffic jams or where to park. It all depends on your needs to either choose to purchase an electric bicycle or an electric conversation kit.
