First Ever GNCC Overall Won By ATK, An American Manufacturer.

– ATK Motorcycles, America’s only off-road motorcycle manufacturer, announces today that Jeff Stoess won a Grand National Cross Country Series Overall Race riding an ATK 450 ATV. According to Frank White, President and CEO of ATK, “This is the first time that an American Powersports Manufacturer, either Motorcycle or ATV, has ever won the GNCC Overall”.

In 2003 ATK purchased the remaining inventory of Cannondale Motorsports. Building upon Cannondale’s innovative technology, ATK re-engineered motor and electrical components creating a truly reliable powerplant. ATK’s entire 2004 four-stroke product line-up is manufactured using many of these components, including the ATV ridden by Stoess.

The GNCC race, held at Sparta, Kentucky, was described as a muddy abyss. At the checkered flag, for the pro class event, less than half of the 269 starters finished the race due to breakdowns or getting stuck in the mud. Conditions couldn’t have been better for Jeff Stoess. Stoess, a world-class racer and ATK Dealer, loves racing in the mud. Stoess remarked, “The ATV ran flawlessly. The ATK is an extremely good bike in the mud…better than anything else on the market. It is the most waterproof quad I’ve ever owned.” When asked how much he modified the quad Jeff responded, “It was pretty much stock.” Other components contributing to the win include Kenda Tires, Elka Shocks, and Tireballs.

It’s not every day that we hear about a British creation taking America by storm – and we’re not reflecting on Coldplay’s recent chart success. This is something dirty, more dangerous and much more thrilling.

The world of motocross has had unleashed upon it the Great British iKAT.

The iKAT (formerly iCAT) is a small, lightweight device that boasts the kind of performance benefits that enthusiasts of dirt bikes, quads and ATV’s have been waiting for.
