Ezip Mountain Trailz Electric Bicycle

Posted by in Saturday, July 11, 2009

This is my 2008 E-Zip Mountain Trailz electric bike I received on June 18, 2008. Immediately after receiving it, I started to customize it with better parts, whether for comfort, safety, or for higher top speed. In only a few short months, it’s had 18 or 20 updates or upgrades from original. I’ll be replacing the Currie battery pack with some high-end 20 Ah AGM batteries. They’ll yield range far beyond anything the stock batteries could have gone and allow me to maintain top speed much longer. This electric bike has been one of the best purchases I’ve ever made and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Because of the energy crisis, hybrid vehicles are booming these days. With respect to cars, hybrid usually refers to engines that use electricity and gasoline. The combination of both gets you more gas mileage. As an example the 2008 Toyota Prius, a well-known hybrid car, gets 48 miles per gallon as oppose to a comparable 4-cylinder non-hybrid car, like the Honda Civic, that gets 36 miles per gallon. The point is hybrid technology lets you to cover more grounds for a given set of resources, gasoline in this case.

In the bicycling world, the term hybrid refers to bicycles with electric motors. The traditional push pedaling made easy with electricity. Instead of higher gas mileage, you get more miles pedaling and best yet, you don’t have to buy gas (because it’s a bicycle).

In the past, at least in the United States, gas prices were never been a concern. Up until 2006, Americans were able to buy gas for under .00 per gallon. That’s practically nothing! And times have changed since then.

In other parts of the world, however, they haven’t been so lucky. Europeans have been experiencing gas prices – per gallon. But they still get around. Common among their usual transport is a bicycle. You’ve seen many pictures of common folks getting around town bicycling. To get more “mileage”, a lot of Asians and Europeans use hybrid electric motor bikes.

The other advantage of using an electric bike is the benefit that it gives to your health. Since you’re pedaling, you’re exercising which makes you healthy. Of course, not everyone is in superb physical shape to be pedaling from one side of the city to the other. But remember, it’s a hybrid bike. The electric motor helps you pedal. Therefore you can get in shape slowly, but at the same time do so enjoying the outside.

The price of a hybrid electric bike may set you back from 0 to 00. But that should pay for itself within a year if you can save on – a month on gas and/or -/month on gym membership.

It’s very important to consider the global warming effect that the gasoline operated cars produce. Among others, gasoline is a concern. Burning gasoline emits pollutants that are harmful to both the environment and our health. Transportation that uses less gas (hybrid cars) and no gas (electric car, hybrid bikes, electric scooters) are getting a lot of attention among consumers.

There are many different choices for you to select a great electric bike, but one of the best electric bikes are the Izip and Ezip electric bikes. Here are the discussion of these two brands of bikes:

Izip Hybrid Electric Bicycles From Currie Technologies, the Izip is one of the more popular electric hybrid bikes. In one battery charge, it can travel up to 23-30 miles depending on the cycle’s weight. Top speed on this 8-gear street bike can be up to 18 mph. The motor and battery pack are cleverly integrated within the bike’s frame. So unlike most electric bicycles, these components are not visually obtrusive. The geared hub motor is a brushless DC type encased in an alloy shell. The battery pack is made of NiMH EV Rated Batteries Down Tube Concealed 24V / 9AH Pack (20) 1.2V Rechargeable Cells. There are men’s and women’s versions of the Izip bike.

Ezip Electric Bikes:. From Currie Technologies, the Ezip is another great bike and also its price comparable to any other electric bike in its class. In one battery charge, it can travel up to 15-22 miles depending on the cycle’s weight. It can speed up to bike 15 mph. The motor and battery pack on the dies and the battery can ve easily removed from the rack and charged. Most of these bikes offered a 450 W of powered in a The geared brushed DC type encased in an alloy shell. There are men’s and women’s versions of the Ezip bikes. There are many brands of the Ezip some of them are: Ezip Trailz , Ezip Mountain Trailz , Ezip Coast Line. Plus Ezip offer electric scooters.

Figuring out your mode of transportation can often be a difficult task, especially if you don’t have an adequate car or don’t need a car because you live in a large metropolitan area with cabbies. Though hopping a rideshare with a friend may seem like a no-brainer, this may not always work become of incompatible schedules, time constraints or other reasons.

Gas-powered automobiles have their disadvantages and finding an alternative mode of transportation energy is often the target of politicians, legislatures and environmentally-concerned individuals. Many alternative modes of transportation exist, including public transportation like bus lines, subways and rail lines, foot-pedal bicycles and even electric bikes.

Uses for Electric Bikes

Now, there are actually many different reasons why a person might want to go ahead and invest in an electric bike. Some poeple find that having the electric bike as a secondary form of transportation is a quick and easy way to get rid of the second vehicle in the home. You can easily take the electric bike down to the bank, the store or the post office.

While you might not like the idea of firing up an engine for a short trip, the electric bikes use small motors and batteries. They are also a great way to teach youngsters about the standard rules of t he road. The Razor Pocket Rocket miniature electric bike is a scaled-down version that is suitable for teenagers ages 13 and older to ride around town on.

Electric Bike Benefits

While there might be a lot of advantages to public transportation or simply using your own car, you are going to find that the same can be said about electric bikes. The electric bike gives you the feeling of riding in a motor scooter or a regular motorcycle without all of the smell, complications or noise. You will save a lot of money with the electric bikes, whether you are using them for yourself or for your kids.

By giving your teenager a Razor Pocket Rocket miniature electric bike, you will allow him to attend his own meetings and outings without a problem. Also, since the electric bike is not classified as a motor vehicle, your teen does not need a license to ride it. This is also great for those adults who have had their licenses suspended.

There are also many other benefits to deciding to ride an electric bike as well. Oftentimes, riding an electric bike prevents parking hassles and trouble you experience; you don’t even need to worry about parallel-parking!

You may be unsure of an electric bike at first, but while automobiles require gasoline that costs money, an electric bike requires no such daily or weekly fuel cost. Getting yourself an electric bike might just be what is in your best interest. It will give you a form of transportation to enjoy the outdoors, save a little money and do your best to help the environment.

Electric Chopper Bicycle

Posted by in Monday, July 06, 2009

This is a electric chopper bicycle that I put together and actually just finished just a week or so ago. I wanted to show you some video of my work. The bike is now for sale and is a ton of fun. Sorry for the super shaky video when riding, that tiny camera would be a lot better taped to something. Thanks

Electric Chopper Bicycle. Custom Made. Approx 40 mile range with light peddling. Top speed 20Mph. Meant for cruising around town in style and without getting a DUI after a few beers. The battery is a Lithium Iron (LiFePo4 36 volt 20 ah) that I ordered directly from hong kong thru ebay for 0. Lithium batteries are already much cheaper since I bought this one. I saw a battery on 1/28/09 with the same stats on ebay for 9. WOW. Eletric bikes are great. I have a full sized electric motorcycle too for shorter quicker trips. I’ll post a video on that soon.

Chopper bikes have always held its own in the motorcycle marketplace. All thanks to the strong support given by hardcore chopper fans from all around the world. In recent years, one of the fastest rising motorcycle sport has taken the United States by storm: mini bike riding. For many custom chopper fans who, for some reason, don’t wish to pay the full price of a chopper bike, this is a dream come true.

Mini chopper bikes are much cheaper than the real thing, easier to maintain, and are safer to ride. You can choose to ride either a gas mini chopper, or an electric mini chopper. Both has its advantages and disadvantages.

Electric chopper mini bikes tend to attract more new riders. They are generally cheaper to maintain, since they don’t require gas (which can be expensive these days) to run. However, most electric mini choppers do not go as fast as gas mini chopper bikes. Also, they do not cover as much distance. As they are generally slower than gas driven mini choppers, they are also easier to handle – hence, making them ideal for new bikers and young children.

After some practice, you may choose to move on to gas mini choppers. Whether you want to keep the old minibike is completely up to you. Gas mini choppers have the potential to travel at much faster speeds. That means the bikes also require a more skillful rider to handle the extra power. They operate very much like an ordinary chopper bike, except that they are smaller in size.

When riding a gas or electric mini chopper bikes, be sure that they are certified for use on public roads before taking them out to the streets. Different states have different regulations regarding the use of mini bikes on public roads. You may wish to check with the vendor before making a purchase, or you may ask your insurance agent. Otherwise, check with your local automobile law enforcement agency.

For many chopper fans, riding a mini chopper is not about racing. Rather, it’s about the lifestyle. There is a somewhat carefree feeling to riding chopper bikes. And that’s what help build a strong and intensely loyal fan base for chopper bikes. Unlike other types of pocket bikes like mini GP racing bikes, mini chopper owners seldom focus on racing. Instead, they like to hang out in a big group, and go riding into the sunset on their mini chopper bikes. Many also go to great lengths to customize their chopper bikes. This requires a certain level of knowledge, and of course, passion.

Mainly, mini chopper bikes are so popular because many chopper fans can now do many of the things that they have always wanted to do with their chopper bikes without having to worry about the cost of owning a real chopper. Customizing and maintaining a custom mini chopper bike is so much cheaper compared to a real chopper. Also, when the owner grows tired of the existing mini chopper bike, it’s also much easier to sell it away and buy another one.

Today, mini chopper bikes continue to give great satisfaction to their owners all over the world.

Three Thousand Kilometers Across Africa on Electric Bikes? That’s eZee!

1598 milestone on China’s 312 Nation road, eZee bike on its way along the silk route.

Cape Town, ZA (PRWEB) January 26, 2009

Zero Rally Africa (ZRA), scheduled for the beginning of this year, was designed to be a tough challenge to showcase the latest and best in vehicles in alternative fuel technologies. Makers of solar, electric hybrids, biofuel and fuel cell vehicles were expected to display their prowess and abilities, competing with each other under the harshest African environment. It would be seen as an exciting glimpse into a new 4 wheeled future without fossil fuels.

When things in 2008 unfolded to worsening conditions, with oil prices rocketing to a peak of $ 140 a barrel, followed by the largest financial crisis since the great depression. Automakers begin to collapse under the weight of an old world order, even as they scramble to cut operating costs, pulling out from luxurious sporting events like the F1. While they begin to develop major plans serious for fuel-efficient and electric hybrid vehicles. It would seem that even their loftier ‘green’ pursuits would have to be scaled back and the Zero Rally Africa has been postponed indefinitely.

“As opposed to the car in all its forms, we always want to prove the viability of our electric bicycles as a solution for more sensible future, although disappointed that we cannot participate this year under the ZRA banner, we’re not going to let that hold us back,” said W W Ching. “This is far too important … and fun to wait.”

So W W Ching, inventor and entrepreneur of eZee bikes and Rupert Nanni (cyclist, trail guide and keen environmentalist) have planned a grueling route on their own.

With their eZee Torq trekking bike, they will travel across 3,000 kms of Africa, starting from Katima Mulilo by the eastern Caprivi Strip, climbing hills, rough roads and the Namibian desert, roll alongside the Orange river and head down to their destination in Cape Town. Averaging some 200 kms per day, they will boldly go where no ‘green’ vehicle has gone.

“Unlike other vehicles, electric bikes adds to but does replace the human movement, while I’ll enjoy all the benefits of the electric assistance and conventional cycle, a cycle ride like this still requires physical and mental training,” said Rupert Nanni who spent 3 weeks over Christmas preparing for the event. “I also searched all over also for an electric bike that will meet the rigors of this ride and it seems that the Torq will be best for the job.”

“We’ve done several events in the past, including the length of the Mississippi river, across Australia and even across China. When the going gets tough, the tough go eZee,” quips Ching.

About the Event:

Katima to Cape Town will start on the 26th of Jan and end on the 2th of Feb in Cape Town, where the bikes will be auctioned off for charity. More information and updates can be found on http://www.ezeebike.co.za/

About the Company:

Since 2001, eZee Kinetics Technology Co. Ltd has been specializing in the design, development and manufacturing of its own brand of electric bicycles. Today eZee bikes are sold around the world in over 30 cities.
