If this is the first time you have ever come across the concept of electric bikes, you might be surprised to find out that it is not quite what you expected. This is not the electric motor bike or moped as some people think. It is actually nothing quite as complicated, just picture a basic bicycle with no bells or whistles, then add an electric motor, a controller to activate and regulate power and a battery, this is an electric bike. These electrical components can be obtained in DIY kits.

You are still able to pedal this bicycle as you would with a normal bike, but it has added electrical components to assist the rider, and make his riding easier in the instances where this is required.

These bikes are not meant to be used to travel at high speeds, just to be able to give the rider assistance when they need it. It essentially augments human power and makes riding easier. This helps with people who are not fit and are cycling to become so, the older person is also taking to bike riding as a form of exercise to keep healthy, but don’t need to tackle hills that might bring on a heart attack, just get the heart rate steadily up. This is where the electric motor comes in.

There are many different sizes, shapes, designs, speeds and models of these bikes for the choosing. Models for the relaxed rider, the sporty rider and the very active too! It is for you to decide what you want, and which category you fit into.

These electric motors can be the chain driven type, or even be fitted in the rear or front wheel hub. The chain driven type is more conspicuously electrical, while bikes with the motor in the wheel hubs are more streamlined.

You get varying degrees of motor strength from around 200w to 700w, it just depends what you want to use them for, or your own particular needs. Batteries are also different and some bikes allow you to choose which battery to use, while the older models don’t allow for choice. Three battery types are used nickel metal hydride, lead acid and lithium ion.

The motor is operated by means of a controller; again, it is up to the user to decide where they want this to be fitted. It can be mounted on the handlebars in much the same way as a throttle would be, and it can be activated by the pedals.

Electric Transportation Advocate Launches Web site to Promote Green Scooters

Star, ID (PRWEB) October 29, 2009

Clint Mart is one step ahead of the curve when it comes to traveling with ease and comfort without contributing to environmental pollution. He is a proactive voice of green living as he encourages others to reduce their carbon footprint by supporting the use of electric-powered transportation.

“Electric vehicles are part of the future. They’re quiet, clean, inexpensive and very low maintenance; they don’t run on oil or gas and are great for every facet of life,” Mart said.

In an effort to promote electric motor and battery powered vehicles, he transformed his ideals into a prosperous online business, http://www.ElectricScooterVille.com, in September of 2009. Here green living enthusiasts and other customers can browse through an exciting selection of electric-powered transportation options that are all equipped with the latest technological advancements and backed by an Xtreme Scooter warranty.

The electric bicycle is available in many varieties including two models that even look like regular bikes and one model that can be easily folded for convenient travel and transportation. Every design adheres to the federal bicycle regulation HR727, which allows the cyclist to travel in bike lanes and on bike paths and can be operated without any form of driver’s license or registration.

The electric scooter is also in compliance with this law; it’s allowed in bicycle lanes and paths in most jurisdictions and doesn’t require a driver’s license. Great for kids and adults, it can be used to perform a variety of tricks. Best of all they are quiet and won’t disturb the neighbors (or you). Many have an optional seat that is easily installed or removed.

The electric mobility scooter has proven to be Mart’s favorite vehicle because of the superior mobility it has provided his wife, Sylvia, who is a Polio survivor. This revolutionary new design is for a person who can’t walk any distance but is healthy and active. The XB420M scooter is unlike most other mobility scooters that can only get around on firm, smooth surfaces. This model can easily travel across four to six inches of thick grass, through gravel, dirt and rough surfaces without slowing or getting stuck. Set on three large pneumatic wheels, it features an adjustable captain’s chair, side mirrors, turn signals, a horn and storage compartments. This stable mobility scooter can safely and securely travel up to 15 mph and 20-25 miles between charges.

The line of electric mopeds certainly shows the latest technology in electric vehicles. This swift and safe ride can travel up to 65 mph and has a range or of up to 85 miles between charges. They comfortably seat two adults and are superb commute vehicles. They have a low center of gravity and they eliminate the hassles of oil changes, fueling spills and smells; in general, they’re very low maintenance.

The electric ATV, available in two models, is a great transportation resource for hunting, construction sites or general play. Each vehicle is quiet, low maintenance and doesn’t cost much to operate.

Many of these products have been featured on NBC and ABC news and will be discussed in further detail on Mart’s new interactive blog, http://www.ElectricCycle-ScooterReview.com. Here customers can also read about how each of these electric vehicles is adaptable to businesses, the engineering behind the motor and batteries, green transportation and how federal bike laws allow such electric vehicles to be included in their regulation.

Every electric vehicle at ElectricScooterVille.com is an excellent option for commuters, large campuses, industrial complexes, running errands, recreation and family fun. They are dedicated to providing quality and affordable products matched with professional service.

A pocket bike is a two wheeled motorized device that has a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and that is not designated or manufactured for highway use.

Pocket bikes are also small motorcycles powered by 40-49cc gasoline engines or electric motors, thus they are many other names and varieties of pocket bikes, including mini bikes, pocket mini bikes, pocket rockets, mini motos, pocket racers, dirt pocket bikes, pit bikes, dirt mini bikes, and more, but they all are smaller versions, typically less than 2 feet tall, of some normal-sized motorcycle.

Mini bikes can be categorized into a few specialized types:

* Pocket Rockets: Pocket rockets (also called mini motos) refer to pocket bikes that are styled to resemble the Grand Prix (GP) sport and street bikes.
* Pit Bikes: Pit bikes (or dirt mini bikes) are miniature replicas of the motocross dirt racing bikes.
* Mini choppers: Mini chopper bikes are miniature choppers.
* Mini quad bikes: mini quad bikes are four wheeler mini bikes that are made to be like off road ATVs (all terrain vehicles).

All of these pocket bikes share at least one feature-they are small, besides, here are other common features: Lower cost of ownership, quiet, friendlier to the environment, reliable, and safer fun. And all these pocket bikes can be bought at Motocrox.com.

However, the rider and their parents should understand the pocket bike is not a toy and therefore requires that they ride responsibly including full head protection as well as protective clothes.

One more thing needs to mention is that most states prohibit their use on public roadways, but don’t worry, there are still plenty of great places to ride a pocket bike; try your backyard, driveway, or a favorite nearby racetrack.

So Why Opt for a Battery Driven Electric Street Bike?

Posted by in Monday, November 23, 2009

Biking is a pleasurable and exercise hobby for many years, at first the cycle was designed as a form of amusement and class, remember those cycles using the big front tyre with no brakes? Those are termed as the Penny-farthing bike. Only hot shot wealthy of Great Britain could cruise this kind of weirdness, having said that to day has advanced in to far better solutions for bike driving.

When I was a boy I rode a banana seat bicycle which had purple fire flames designed into it, hey ıt had been enjoyment when your a young child. Currently riding a bicycle can have a number of uses whether it be simply for enjoyment or sport or possibly everyday commuter by choice or merely because your truck stopped working. And those beach cruisers have already been a staple of Venice Beach, CA for many years and it’s synonymous whenever thinking about California young women and the beach.

Therefore at this time you might be checking on getting a brand-new cycle for whichever reason. The very thought of doing all that peddling and getting exhausted does not sound so great, especially for an individual much like me who might be slack and dosn’t want to perspire mainly because once it begins the sweating will pour all night, guess that’s the Italian in me. Though the sense of independence on the bicycle is an excellent thing. The tranquility and sound from the rubber on the road with the wind on your mug and hair (if you still possess hair) happens to be tension relieving.

Discover an electrical bicycle would bring about the cool! I’m sure your contemplating those hulking ridicules looking wimpy bikes but no, the up to date types are mega innovative and sophisticated. A great number of electric cycles are powered with a eco-responsible rechargeable Nickel lithium battery, and they pack a punch! Perhaps you have had noticed the the new electric powered drag racers? They blow off the petrol motor funny cars in the 1 / 4 mile so bad it’s really a joke.

The technological innovation of these recent electric cycles aren’t different. Cost of these kind of juiced suckers isn’t bad, from the couple of hundred or so to few 1000 based of what you wish for. And they are available in every type under the rainbow, even a full on dangerous mean looking mountain / hill cycle that will journey anywhere up to thirty miles per hour just like a roller coaster and then a range of 34 miles in distance. But for the metropolitan commuter there is much less aggressive and even more easy going configurations of electric bikes on the market in order that you turn up on the job rejuvenated yet dry of virtually any unsightly streaming sweat.

Examine these assorted models of electric cycles after which go for the bicycle and enjoy.

Moab Folk Music Festival Boasts Great Music, Scenic Surroundings and Family Fun; Event Set for Nov. 4-6, 2005

Moab Folk Music Festival Boasts Great Music, Scenic Surroundings and Family Fun; Event Set for Nov. 4-6, 2005

Moab, Utah (PRWEB) September 29, 2005

Plans for the 2005 edition of the Moab Folk Music Festival (http://www.MoabFolkFestival.com), in its third year, have been announced by the festival’s founder, Moab’s Melissa Schmaedick. This year’s lineup includes some of the top folk musicians in the nation, performing at four Moab venues throughout the weekend of Nov. 4-6.

Among those appearing are Sloan Wainright (the sister of Loudon Wainright and aunt of Rufus and Martha); violinist Eileen Ivers, who has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra and dance troupe Riverdance; and Seattle’s high-energy Laura Love. The weekend features individual performances by Jimmy LaFave, Eliza Gilkyson and Slaid Cleaves, as well as a group tribute to Woody Guthrie, “Ribbon of Highway, Endless Skyway,” with Guthrie’s granddaughter Sarah Lee Guthrie and her husband Johnny Irion joining in, and many more.

Schmaedick says of the event, “This is our third year, and it will be our best yet. It’s a real honor to have so many top-notch performers here in Moab. Our team has had a great time assembling a music festival that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. We’re proud that we’ve created such a family-friendly — and environmentally sound — event.”

Schmaedick notes that the Folk Festival is alcohol-, drug- and pet-free, to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all audience members. In addition, to minimize the event’s impact on the environment, Synergy Company has donated wind-generated electricity to serve all power needs — and official festival T-shirts will be manufactured from 100% recycled cotton and other environmentally friendly products. She notes, “Moab offers a beautiful setting for our event, and these pro-environment values are in keeping with the local culture and the priorities of the people who live here. It’s exciting to have sponsors and vendors with such a deep desire to help us maintain this commitment to our surroundings.”

These natural and historic surroundings are part of the draw for the festival’s attendees. Performance stages are all within walking distance of each other, and close to shopping and dining in downtown Moab. In addition, concert goers can enjoy hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities in town, or at the nearby national parks. “This combination of great music and a fantastic natural setting provides visitors with endless activities for the entire weekend,” Schmaedick said.

About the Moab Folk Music Festival

The Moab Folk Festival began in 2002 and brings top musicians to the historic Utah town, a favorite of tourists who enjoy the outdoor recreation offered throughout the region. Vendors will provide food and non-alcoholic beverages, along with festival memorabilia.
